We are looking for a highly motivated manager to join us as the owner of our R&D Battery Chemistry Development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Director of Chemistry R&D will be responsible for all aspects of fundamental battery research from screening of active materials, through basic electrode formulation, electrolytes development and proprietary process development.
- Manage a large group of R&D staff including 15 PhD researchers, in various disciplines such as physical chemistry (electrochemistry), formulation development, organic synthesis and analytical chemistry in an Agile practicing organization.
- Report Directly to the EVP R&D.
- A member of the R&D management team.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- BSc and at least 3 years of industry experience, or MSc with adequate experimental experience in: Electrochemical-related field (Physics, Chemistry, Chem. Eng., EE, Materials Eng. or similar), with knowledge in energy storage/batteries.
- Experience with similar/relevant system design/integration of technology into a product according to requirements documentation.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and task ownership; ability of analytical problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Analytical mindset and product-oriented approach.
