In this position you will join our cell development R&D team. You will be responsible for the integration of new chemistries/materials and testing protocols into full cells. You will develop and perform both basic and advanced cell characterizations and will be in close contact with all aspects of cell manufacturing and handling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Determine optimal cell design to meet SD EV specifications considering each component advantages and limitations.
Develop cell conditioning, testing and performance screening methodologies
Support the various development teams with cell development responsibilities both in terms of prototype production as well as data analysis
Prototyping and evaluating battery cell design and performance to meet product specifications.
Be responsible for integration and all accompanying processes to transfer specific chemistry level solutions to product level in partnership with all relevant interfaces within StoreDot
Development of spec and data sheet required testing procedures.
Contribute to establishing the best engineering practices in the full product development cycle for the entire team.
Implement design of experiments (DoE) methodologies for finding optimal cell parameters and chemistry/material screening.
Develop cell diagnostic tools and life extending protocols.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
BSc in EE, materials science or related field with 3 years’ experience as system engineer or PhD/MSc in Chemistry, EE, Physics, or other related fields with knowledge in energy storage/batteries is a strong advantage.
Strong engineering orientation with hands on approach towards problem solving and multitasking capabilities.
Ability to work in a company-wide projects and multidisciplinary environments
Strong team player with excellent communication skills capable of working effectively with multiple interfaces - Must
Experience with similar/relevant system design/integration of technology into a product according to PRD – Strong advantage
Demonstrated technical leadership and issue ownership; ability of analytical problem solving and troubleshooting - advantage
Experience through full product development cycle of complex systems, from initial concept to engineering samples - advantage
Strong data analysis capabilities. Experience with statistical or data analysis tools such as JMP and Matlab\Python are strong advantage.
